Statement by the Council of Albanian Ambassadors on the recent situation in the north of Kosova.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors (CAA) has been continuously following and analyzing the situation in the northern part of Kosova. We have expressed our concerns on the instability and on security issues in the communes with Serbian majority, as the result of the criminal and destabilizing activities of the parallel para-military and para-political structures operating in these communes, supported by Belgrade through its intelligence agencies; the latter are confirming with each passing day that they are proxy of the Russian secret services.
With regard to the latest developments, we re-emphasize that the Republic of Kosova is a sovereign state and its territorial integrity is untouchable. The implementation of laws and the functionality of democratic institutions has made the Republic of Kosova a pattern of democracy for the whole region and an irreplaceable contributor to security, stability and peace in the region and beyond.
The implementations of laws all over its territory are the fundamental basis for the functionality of the rule of law in Kosova, which has made it the pattern mentioned above.
CAA commends the professionalism shown by the security structures of the Republic of Kosova in calming down the situation, thus implementing the democratic, institutional and constitutional decisions, which were lately made possible in the northern communes of the Republic of Kosova and on which the international community has extended its full-fledged support.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors expresses its confidence that the sustainability and applicability of the justified actions taken by the Republic of Kosova in pacifying the situation in the country’s north will be efficient and comprehensive if the government continues to be incessantly engaged and committed in consultations and in coordination with its EU and US friends.
At the same time, the Council of Albanian Ambassadors calls on the international factor to maintain neutrality and support the Republic of Kosova to establish the rule of law and the constitution throughout its territory, as well as to condemn the nationalist actions and provocations of the Serbian world, of Serbia and of its President, as happened with his last irresponsible statements.
